About Diamond F Co
Out of a lifelong dream to “design great homes and places of business for great families and business owners”, and with overwhelming support of my amazing wife and family, I decided to start Diamond F Co in March of 2022.
Hello, my name is Courtney Faas and I am the owner of Diamond F Co. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a love to designing and building things, especially custom homes. At an early age, while most of my friends were looking through comic books and Sports Illustrated, I can remember sitting in Lowe’s and Home Depot, going through page after page of design books, looking at different house designs and layouts, and just soaking it all in. I knew one day this is what I wanted to do.
Something about home construction has always appealed to me. A home is more that just a building, it’s an extension of the family. A home should be both comfortable and functional, not only meeting your needs but also bringing families together. It should be a reflection of your personality but also be designed in a way to best suit your family’s lifestyle. Continuing with this same concept, we have expanded to include this same level of caring to business owners to ensure their dreams can be realized.
Growing up around both residential and industrial construction, I learned early on how to not only build but also how to manage a project (and also how not to!). Building and remodeling homes with my father and family, I learned many valuable lessons but most of all I learned that I wanted to help others build their dreams.
While I always dreamed of being an Architect, life took me in another direction, and I ultimately ended up in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, I took on many Engineering and Project Manager roles supporting various functions around the Petrochemical Industry. I truly value these experiences as it has helped me grow as a person, a project manager and a professional.
Throughout my time in Engineering, the desire to build has continued. From multi-million dollar projects to home workshops (and even a custom garden), building for others is something I truly have a passion for. Along with this desire to build, and coupling my Engineering background, I have developed a love for not only construction but doing so at the highest possible quality. I have become a student of “building science” and high-efficiency building concepts.
I truly believe that the quality of life facilitated by your home or business will not only provide you happiness but also can help you live better. Starting with the building envelope and looking at air tightness and water management. Then moving into the indoor air quality and utility and support systems. Finally, using high quality finishes and fixtures, I truly believe these concepts can positively affect your life and well-being.
I look forward to working with you to create the highest quality version of your dream and bringing it to reality.
Our Approach and What Makes Us Different
Throughout my life I have helped to design and build several homes and commercial buildings, as well as custom furniture. This has taught me not only about good designs (and bad) but also how to design in a way to best meet the clients needs and facilitate the contractor(s) craftsmanship. I feel my experiences have helped me develop processes that help facilitate taking your dreams and truly making them a reality.
Taking that into the construction phase, I feel that my personal approach is very different than most. I want to get to know the families and business owners I work with and understand what it is they truly are looking for in their project and build from that idea. Not just simply rooms and furniture, but what is the flow, what do you want to DO in the spaces. What do you need it to do and how do you want to get there. Being perfectly honest, designing and building a home or business is not easy, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be fun and rewarding.
